About a year ago the USS Tranquility got this email and I just unburied it in my inbox... Embarassed

Greetings!

Please pardon my brief intrusion. Being a fan of both science fiction, and progressive rock, I thought some of you and your members might be interested in a concept album (rock opera?) my band has created, based on the sci-fi novel "The Sparrow" by Mary Doria Russell (with the author's permission).

After members of my band Metaphor read the book, we all agreed that we could really do something with it - the result is exceptionally interesting and creative music, filled with strange twists and turns, unexpected changes, a variety of moods...as well as a depth of lyrics that will certainly satisfy the discerning listener.

Visit www.metaphor.org for information and samples. I hope you check it out and forward to others, as an interesting and creative musical take on that outstanding novel.

Thanks,

~ malcolm
